Posted July 6th, 2009 Call : We would like to recruit a postdoc, a graduate and a technician to join our programme in the EU-funded Theraptech consortium for developing a recombinant human alkaline phosphatase that complies to application in chronic inflammatory diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and atherosclerosis. In this programme you will focus on therapeutic protein development from onset to first clinical application. Both in-vitro and in-vivo safety, toxicology pharmacological and immunovigilance studies will be addressed. Therapeutic phosphatase supplementation is one of the key programs in Alloksys. These enzymes are positioned to be key elements in mitigation of pro-inflammatory cascades. These cascades are induced upon ischemia-reperfusion damage by "danger" and or "stranger" signals, amongst which nucleotides released by damaged tissues and bacterial endotoxins.
Candidate profile : The aio- candidates should be enthusiastic investigators with background in (medical) biology and interest in the innate immune system, who is willing to prepare a PhD thesis. Postdoctoral fellows with experience in the field of innate immunity and or molecular biology are also invited to apply.
Offer: We offer a full time temporary position for the time of the project (36 month).
