Management team

Paul L.A. Hamm, Ir, chairman supervisory board

has a degree in chemical technology (University of Delft) and has been active as initiator and founder of H&H Group, now BMA, a industry-equipment supply company. In 1997 Hamm was employed at DSM as director of acquisition, and next as Business group director at DSM Venturing & Business Development with business units in Europe, USA and Japan. From 2004 Hamm started an independent business with participations in several life sciences companies with focus on nutriceuticals and Functional Foods as well as an independent consultancy activity with focus on implementation of innovative know-how and value creation.

Ruud Brands, PhD (1953), General Managing Director, CEO/Research & Development

is a molecular cell biologist, specializing in Cellular Biochemistry and Biological Immunotoxicology. After his graduation at the University of Utrecht, he held several positions in the field of cell biology and oncology at Stanford University (Palo Alto, CA) and the Netherlands Cancer Institute. More recently he was a staff member at the Department of Biotechnology at Solvay Pharmaceuticals in the Netherlands, where he managed the R&D of the first (now licensed) cell culture derived influenza vaccine. Brands has authored more than 30 papers and is inventor of five patents. Brands was co-founder of PharmAAware bv in 2000, incorporated in the AM-Pharma holding bv in 2002 after a merger.

Sake Stevenhaagen CFO

Sake Stevenhaagen Sake (1976) studied Actuarial Sciences (University of Amsterdam, 1994-2003). Several courses were next followed focussing on leadership, development, communication internet marketing and management. This background enabled him to start a private business in developing innovative investment tools. Also he functioned as a initiator in several sports-related functions.

Willem Seinen, Prof., University Utrecht, CSO, Interdisciplinary relations

Prof. Dr. Willem Seinen (1946), DVM, PhD, holds a chair in Toxicology at the Utrecht University now for more than 20 years. After his graduation as veterinarian he started in experimental animal pathology, founded a working group pathology-toxicology and graduated in immunology before his appointment in Biological Toxicology. Willem Seinen was director of the interfacultary research institute toxicology for two five year terms and was president of the Netherlands Society of Toxicology from 1996-2002. He participate(d)s in various governmental as well as industrial scientific panels and advisory boards. Prof. Seinen is (co)author of over 250 scientific papers, one handbook and with his supervision 90 PhD theses were prepared.
