Alloksys Life Sciences BV is a biopharmaceutical company that is strongly committed to the R&D of therapeutic proteins for the treatment of both acute and chronic inflammatory diseases. Our RESCAP (REScuing Alkaline Phosphatase) as an innate-immune system modulating compound is being developed for the areas prevention of ischemia-reperfusion damage in invasive surgery, atherosclerosis, MS, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, Alzheimer/neurodisorders and asthma-COPD. Towards these diseases human recombinant RESCAP is in development with clinical studies being planned.
Research Platform: Alloksys established an integral research network comprising of several academic and biotech collaborations, both nationally and international. Recombinant RESCAP for chronic inflammatory diseases is developed within a partnering ETB program on the novel CAP9 human amnion host cell production platform from CEVEC Pharma, enabling favorable dosing regimes and COG.
Clinical Status: Alloksys has finalised a phase II clinical trial (see news update April 2008) in prevention of ischemia-reperfusion damage during cardiovascular surgery and prepares subsequent studies in invasive surgery. A phase III study has started in patients undergoing heart valvular surgery, in short term to be expanded to a multi centre international trial. OMPD status for different orphan applications have been applied for at EMA and/or FDA.
